Download Summary Report: The Future of Type B Messaging

Type B Messaging has long been regarded as legacy technology, albeit “good enough” and highly interconnected with all endpoints and interdependent with all touch points in the aviation network.

This creates challenges when it’s time to consider modernising part of the network or introducing a new protocol or standard. Type B represents the lowest common denominator and is the most legacy piece of infrastructure.

As long as it is necessary to support it in its current form the scope for change and modernisation is limited across the ecosystem.
